As the sun moves into Pisces, the final sign of the zodiac (which governs the calendar roughly between February 18 and March 20), we’re celebrating our compassionate, sensitive, and open-minded Pisces friends.

Lauren Ash, an astrologer for Sanctuary, says that people who fall under the sign of Pisces are “independent and truly the artists of the zodiac.” She adds that these intuitive folks "are very perceptive, especially to changes in other people and their surroundings.”

Pisces is symbolized by two fish swimming in opposite directions, and it’s “the only sign ruled by Jupiter and Neptune,” according to Ash. This is significant because Jupiter rules over luck and Pisces rules over dreams, so people with a sun sign of Pisces tend to be happy-go-lucky daydreamers, artists, and creatives.

While Pisceans can be overly emotional, Ash says “they also have the uncanny ability to soothe and heal both themselves and those around them with their presence and energy.”

To convey this sign’s dreamy and healing aesthetic, florist Mark Thompson opted for pastel blooms with whimsical beauty—such as daffodils, ranunculus and dahlias—and added texture with delicate Queen Anne’s lace, hellebores and curling ferns.

Ash notes that Pisces is associated with pastel, water-inspired colors such as “indigo, blue-gray and green in any lighter shade, particularly seafoam green.” To round out the arrangement and bring in Pisces’ signature colors and symbolism, Thompson opted for a seafoam green Carolina Irving and Daughters vase and motifs inspired by the ocean.
