June is a popular travel month for many people, as the Northern Hemisphere is starting to warm up for summer and the kids are officially out of school. We think adults deserve summer break too, so June is the perfect time to travel and kickstart the new season in style. Whether you want to take a family road trip one state over or head to the airport for an international flight, make sure to add these fun summer vacation ideas to your bucket list. Here are the best trips to take in June, no matter your travel style.

1

Mackinac Island, Michigan, U.S.

June is the ideal time to explore Mackinac Island, since the cool-but-sunny weather is ideal for hiking, biking, golfing or enjoying any other outdoor pursuits. While you’re exploring this quaint, car-free destination, make sure to try the world-famous fudge and tour the Grand Hotel’s incredible gardens. No matter what’s on your trip itinerary, you’re sure to fall in love with the island’s natural beauty and historic charm.

Whether you opt for a week of sightseeing in Dublin or want to spend a day on the links at Old Head (which was named one of the most beautiful golf courses in the world), June is a prime time for an Irish vacation. With up to 18 hours of daylight each day during the summer, you’ll have plenty of time to explore the Emerald Isle’s bountiful natural beauty.

Aspen, Colorado, U.S.

Though Aspen is known for its stellar skiing (and winter apres scene), it’s equally as breathtaking in the summertime. From incredible hiking and mountain top yoga to music and food festivals, Aspen is definitely still an “it” destination during the warmer months. Not to mention, the city is peppered with well-appointed luxury hotels, incredible restaurants, and world-class spas, so you can pamper yourself and refuel after a day of outdoor activities.

Anacapri, Capri, Italy

Between the jagged cliffs, stacked hillside homes and vast stretches of dazzling blue water, the Amalfi Coast is certainly not short on screensaver-worthy views. However, it can get pretty packed with tourists in cities like Positano during the peak summer months, so we recommend heading to Anacapri (the most exclusive and unspoiled part of the island of Capri) instead. June is the ideal time to visit Anacapri, since the island hosts the international music, art and culture festival Spoleto Festival dei Due Mondi (starting on June 23). Additionally, the Festival of Sant’Antonio (the patron saint of Anacapri) is celebrated on June 13; in the week leading up to the feast day, the Church of Santa Sofia and the historic center of Anacapri are decorated with lights and banners.

Montana, U.S.

This summer, book a trip to Montana for unspoiled natural beauty and an unplugged vacation you won’t soon forget. We recommend glamping in style at Under Canvas, which is located just 10 minutes from Glacier National Park. It’s open for the season beginning June 8, just as the weather starts to get a bit warmer (highs in Glacier hover around 62 degrees in June, in case you need a break from the heat). Between wildlife spotting, fly fishing, hiking, yoga, stargazing and even a rafting dinner trip, this is the ultimate adult summer camp experience.

Aruba

Aruba is the ideal spot for a tropical vacation in June, since it sits south of the hurricane belt and only gets about 15 inches of rainfall each year (read: It's a pretty safe bet you'll have hot weather and get to enjoy the beautiful beaches). This Caribbean island is a prime place for snorkeling and SCUBA diving, and there's a good chance you'll see sea turtles (nesting season runs from March through September). You can also head to Flamingo Beach on Renaissance Island for an Instagram-worthy pic.
